First draft DEADLINE

Well me and Lewis have just handed in our first draft, however we haven't put any additional audio into it as we are still searching for the perfect sounds to be placed and to emerge with the documentary. As a whole me and Lewis are happy with our first attempt to the documentary, the interview process went well and any extra footage seems to have given the documentary some life.
However until we put in our audio we won't really get the real taste of the documentary, we have many back drop footage and voice over's and without music it seems hard to imagine the final product. None the less we will hand it and wait for feedback.

Production Day 4

Interview beside the river was to be our next task. In the interview we would ask lewis many personal questions. The reason for this documentary was to get up and close with the athletes and therefore we made sure that the questions would be interesting and engaging for both the athlete and the audience.
We were to try many different styles of interviewing, for example in many documentary you tend to see walking and on the move interviews it just makes it interesting instead of just the traditional one- one chat amongst the presenter and the athlete.
We went with one particular on the move interview and then approached a bench were we would then film. The way we filmed the bench interview was different, firstly we asked the lewis the questions with the camera facing towards the point of interest, once he had answered all the question 's we would then turn the camera toward to the presenter and then just ask him to say the questions again without an answer. Therefore when we come to editing we can show both sides of the party.

Beside the bench was the River Thames, this was the perfect location for us to do the interview, as you see lewis is just making sure that our voices are sound and clear.

Production Day 3

Production Day 2

The second day of filming was just as interesting as it was at Dorney Lake. This time we were to film at the school. We were fortunate enough that the school was empty, due to a teacher training day.
Our main focus was with the filming inside the gym. We started outside the gym, this was because the presenter (myself) was to talk about Lewis Sloan, and then after he would him beside the gym entrance. We filmed in the gym and got through many takes, however we encountered problems, one was that we over expressed the way we spoke and secondly their were many mirror's in the gym, so making sure that we didn't get the film crew into the shot.

We now turn our attention to the Boat club as it the next scene for our documentary, we will be filming on the river and then talking to lewis whilst he tells us about his experience within this boat club.

Rowing Machines inside the gym, this is were lewis will be demonstrating how to row on the machine
A straight flat view of the gym, here is where majority of our conversations will take place, with many voice over's which connote to what lewis is talking about.

Weightlifting platform this will be were we will do a voice over of lewis doing his
weight exercises

Production Day Photos at Dorney

These's are images of the first production day, as you will see in the documentary Dorney Lake is where it starts.

First Production Day

Getting out and filming was great, after weeks and weeks of planning it finally came down to a session of filming. Dorney Lake was the first location that we were to film at.

The day was a bit dull, with some showery spells, filming was delayed by a few hours making the light to disappear slightly; nonetheless we got on with the task ahead, which was to film the opening sequence to our documentary. The first sequence we had many ideas for where and how we should place the camera to make the shot effective. We did many different shots filming the same thing as we wanted to draw our idea towards the traditional documentary shots.

However as a whole filming went well we managed to get through all the sequence and also managed to film some spare extra shots if need be. Our next challenge is to film at the school, in the gym and then after that at the Boat club.

We Film Tomorrow

Well me and Lewis can't wait to film, we done a lot of planning leading up to this stage, so hopefully everything can run smoothly. As you can see below this document lists the timing schedule for our first production day. So it would be great if we can follow this itinerary. Not everything has to do be done in order, however it would be important we get everything done, that is seen on this document.

Risk Assesment

A risk assessment is vital, and without it we can't film. we must highlight the potential risk of filming. We also need to find possible solutions to those risk so that we minimise potential danger to our selves.
